The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle

This project was influenced by the book the wind-up bird chronicle. the project was an interpretation of four locations where the book takes place; the alley that the main character, Toru Okada travels each day looking for his lost cat, Toru's apartment, and an abandoned home called the "hanging house" and a fashion studio. Each location sparked my imagination to develop illustrations, utilizing my architectural knowledge and creativity to bring visual context to the words from the book. I did take some liberties with the design of the “hanging house” because part of me just wanted to design an interesting home.
